Nagham El Karhili is a Presidential Fellow at Georgia State University’s Transcultural Conflict and Violence Initiative. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Francophone Studies. She has also earned her Masters degree in Public Relations from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Communication with a focus on Media & Society. El Karhili’s research focuses on international political communication with particular attention to organizational communication and its specific application to Muslim Civil Society Organizations. El Karhili previously worked as a communications instructor at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and as a public relations practitioner in Dubai.
Mohammed Husain F. Jassem is a Middle East and North Africa Analyst at Integrity UK, a research organisation based in London. Mr. Jassem holds a Masters of Research (MRes) in Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway University of London. During his MRes, Mr. Jassem focussed his dissertation on studying the role of the Shi'a Marja’iyah on Iraq’s secarianised conflicts. Additionally, Mr. Jassem is a frequent commentator on Middle East politics with appearences on TRT, Al Araby, and Russia Today. Mr. Jassem holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science with a concentration on international affairs from Georgia State University. He also has experience as a research intern at the Carter Center, where he worked on analysing extermist recruitment propaganda. Prior to his current career path, Mr. Jassem was a social studies and Arabic instructor at a private school in Atlanta, Ga.
