Katrina Daly Thompson is Professor and Chair of African Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with affiliations in Anthropology, Gender & Women’s Studies, and Religious Studies. Her publications include Zimbabwe’s Cinematic Arts (Indiana University Press, 2012), Popobawa: Tanzanian Talk, Global Misreadings (Indiana University Press, 2017), and numerous ethnographic articles on language, gender, and sexuality in Muslim communities. She recently co-founded the Madison chapter of El Tawhid Juma Circle.
