Learn how to interact with Muslims in America to ensure comfort and to convey solidarity. This dynamic diversity training will provide the insight and resources necessary to be an ally. We will learn to alleviate misconceptions that revolve around the Islamic faith and culture today.
This event will be facilitated by Sloane Davidson, Founder of Hello Neighbor and a graduate student at The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at The University of Pittsburgh and Wasi Mohamed, the Executive Director from Islamic Center of Pittsburgh with dialogues including:
• Learn about Muslim cultural norms
• Learn about the religious practices that make up a Muslim’s lifestyle
• Alleviating misconceptions about Muslim culture and lifestyle
• Go through a list of ways that one can show solidarity to Muslims within the Greater Pittsburgh area together. We encourage everyone to transform open dialogue into action.
This event is hosted by Hello Neighbor, The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh, and The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at The University of Pittsburgh. It is part of The City of Pittsburgh’s Inclusive Innovation Week. It is open to the Pitt community and the community at large.
