Said Salih Kaymakci received a BA in Economics from Istanbul Bilgi University and BSc in Mathematics and Economics from University of London. He completed his masters at Bogazici University with a thesis examining the legal practices of Ottoman merchants and its relationship with legal and institutional change between 1802 and 1868. Currently, Said is continuing his doctoral studies at Georgetown University with a dissertation project tentatively called “Constitutional Limits of Military Reform: Ottoman Political Writing 1596-1800.” He can be reached at ssk75@georgetown.edu
